CLEANER LAGOS INITIATIVE: Anthony Village, Mende-Maryland Receive “Street Cleaning” Organized By Leaders Of Kosofe Local Government Area

In line with the ongoing One-week Street-Campaign on Cleaner Lagos Initiative, CLI, as ordered by the State governor, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, Kosofe Local Government Area through her leaders led an entourage today, 8th August, 2017, to two major areas of the community.
The residents of Anthony Village under Ward D and Mende-Maryland being the place of the Leader of the House, Ward E, received their representatives unexpectedly. This, as most of the residents expressed surprise seeing the just-elected Council leaders on the streets leading Sanitary Corps.

The “Street Sweeping” organized by the LG which started since Monday, 5th August, 2017, tends to end this Friday, 9th August, 2017. So far, Four Wards covering; Oworoshoki, Ilako Sholuyi Araromi among others have been covered between Monday and now.

Part of the places visited, popular Bush Street axis collected heaps of waste which have been reportedly dumped by passersby. Before the so-called place saw the presence of the sanitary group, one would doubt if there was any electricity transformer erected by the U-turn. It was indeed a total recovery after which the place was cleared. 

Atiba Osborne Street being the place of the former Community Development Area Chairman witnessed the last lap of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative campaign. Not long the street sweeping took place that the Chairman, Honourable Sofola joined the working team on the street. 

All attentions were drawn close to the convoy which brought the Chairman to the occasion. Visiting without notice, most residents of Atiba were happy though so surprised of the visitation.
Mama Alhaja Bishi as popularly called in the area told the Chairman how Waste Management Authority have neglected their job whereas, billings remain unstopped. Due to this, she refused to pay off the billings.

Having listened to her lamentations, Hon. Sofola urged her to calm as effort would be made to have cleaner Lagos. So, the system will be steady. 
After inspecting the on-going work, the Chairman addressed the standing crowd and took inter-street walk as far as Ajao Estate, climbing upwards Sumola Street.
