Under the hardworking chairmanship of Hon. Afolabi Babatunde Sofola (Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government) in conjunction with the membership of Lagos State House of Assembly, Kosofe Constituency 1, right Hon. Bayo Osinowo, contributing to infrastructural development of the area commissioned Concrete Pavement Link Roads at Emmanuel High and Alhaji Amoo Street, Ogudu, Ojota, Lagos.
The event marked new era to the people as the commissioning took place on Tuesday, 16th January, 2018, at the popular Emmanuel High to Alhaji Amoo Street, Ojota consecutively.
The construction of Concrete Lined Drains and Asphaltic Concrete Pavement is said to have taken the duration of good Three Months under the supervision of Works and Infrastructure Department of the local government area.
Present at the occasion include reputable traditional rulers, great politicians, excos and Women Forum from the local government. Namely; Chairman of the local government, Hon. Afolabi Sofola and the vice, Rep. House of Assembly, Hon. Osinowo, paramount ruder, Olojota of Ojota, Oba Olawale, Baale of Mende, Baba Ajose, Leader of the House, Hon. Olumide County, Leader of APC, Tunde Temionu, CDC Chairman, Alhaji Kazeem, Ward Councilors, among others.
The chief host of the day, Hon. Sofola was happily received by the Women Forum chanting political song as usual, while every eye looked forward to seeing the special guest.
Not long, the atmospheric condition could not be comprehended when the great leader, Hon. Bayo Osinowo entered the premises. As much anticipated, the crowd stood up in welcoming the man of reputation. It was indeed fun as Hon. Osinowo danced to their tune thanking all for the hospitable recognition.
In his address, Hon. Osinowo thanked everyone present. He started by honouring the paramount ruler, Oba of Ojota saying he is a true mandate for the local government. Showing high sense of humility, Hon. Osinowo pleaded with the crowd for the little delay in his visit, stating that he had other appointments fully loaded.
He described the party chieftaincy, Bola Tinubu as a powerful leader who can be trusted to any length. "You must be loyal to the party and be ready to deliver the assignment giving to you" he opined. This, he related the effort of the chairman who has been able to deliver all through. He therefore handled the flour over to the chairman.
No stone was left unturned as the chief host, Hon. Sofola mounted the podium. In presentation of his speech, Hon. Sofola remained grateful and thankful for all that were fully present. He emphasized on infrastructural development; “The Executive Governor of Lagos State Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has set a benchmark in which every Local Government Chairman must follow. The ideal Lagos of our dreams is a realization that must be met with total infrastructural development within all the Local Government in the State”
“Let me again use this opportunity to reassure all Residents and Chairmen of all CDA's here present that we remain committed to the welfare and wellbeing of all the communities in the Local Government”
He therefore encouraged the people to pay their quota at all costs; “Pay your tax. It is very important for socio and economic development of our Local Government”
